マレック・オシエシルスキ先生率いるI.K.O.N. USAシカゴ支部は少年部交流試合を正拳道場にて開催した。本大会はマレック先生が中村道場に加盟してから初めて主催する大会となり、40人以上の道場生が型・組手部門に参加した。大会には150人以上の観客が詰めかけ、力の限り戦う若きサムライたちに声援を送った。組手試合は一見、殴り合いのように見られることがあるが、極真空手の神髄は謙虚さにある。道場訓の一つである「我々は礼節を重んじ長上を敬し粗暴な振る舞いを慎むこと」がその重要性を説く。大会は選手たちの頑張りとスタッフの迅速な対応に助られ成功裡に終了した。大会後の総評において、マレック先生から指導陣への感謝の気持ちが述べられた。本大会はもちろんのこと支部発足から道場をサポートしてきた彼らの存在無くしては本日の成功は無かったはずである。また、マレック先生ご自身の友人やスポンサーからの経済的な援助にも感謝の気持ちが伝えられた。そして最後に、参加した選手たちの試合中における友好的で謙虚な態度に賛辞を送り、支部の将来が非常に明るいものであることを伝えた。
I.K.O.N. USA Chicago Branch led by Sensei Marek Ociesielski held a tournament for children at Seiken Dojo on Sunday. Over 40 students took part in this first tournament since Sensei Marek joined IKO Nakamura. Children as young as the age of 5 competed hard in various Kata and Kumite categories. The competition was watched by over 150 people, reacting in a positive manner to lively matches and cheering on the young samurai. The fights were very fierce and at a high sports level. Kyokushin Karate is not an art of aggression. On the contrary, it teaches humility and respect for your opponent during a fight. One of the points of the Dojo Oath that applies to every trainee is; We will follow the rules of courtesy, respect for the elders and refrain from violence. The fights in their respective categories were won by: Nathan Brudz, Franiu Banys, Kubus Ponikiewski, Filip Adamski, Colin Grodzicki, Kacper Surtel, Ernest Bogacz, Ania Staniszewski, Alex Sionek, Patryk Masio, Krystian Bogacz, Alex Muranski, Karolina Krenska, Noelle Szafert, Michał Chwil, Karolina Podstawski, Sebastian Sionek, Alan Padol and Julia Lisiecki … In kata, first place was taken by: Ania Staniszewski and Karolina Krenska The judges chose the best female competitor and male competitor of the Tournament, who were: Karolinka Krenska and Krystian Bogacz. We would like to congratulate all competitors for their brave and, most importantly, friendly attitude. It is a very good omen for the future. As the branch chief and the tournament organizer, Sensei Marek extended his appreciation to all his instructors for their help in holding the event and their support from the very beginning of the branch operations. Sensei Marek also wholeheartedly thanked his sponsors and friends of Seiken Dojo for their generosity that provided him with financial support, without which this tournament would have never taken place.
